Paper Source is a paper and gift retailer from the USA offering a carefully handpicked selection of fine papers, custom invitations and announcements, distinctive gifts, whimsical and artsy greeting cards, gift wrap, paper craft kits, party supplies, personalized stationery and lots of rubber stamps.
Paper Source’s first store opened more than 35 years ago in a vintage building under the elevated tracks in Chicago. Founder, Sue Lindstrom’s desire was to showcase beautiful handcrafted papers from around the world. Fast forward to today, Paper Source has changed owners a few times since 1983, but the concept remains… and artisanal paper was just the beginning. Throughout the years, they have grown the product offerings and expanded their presence within communities coast to coast with the introduction of new stores, through their website and a wholesale division, Waste Not Paper.
They have a huge warehouse facility in Forest Park, Illinois and by the end of 2018 will have 129 stores! Paper Source is a destination for wedding stationery and décor. They offer an array of customizable invitations as well as templates for doing it yourself. Invitations feature current trends including letterpress, thermography and foil accents.
Paper Source is a store all of us wish were in our neighborhoods. Unlike a Hallmark store with its feel of mass produced items and cookie cutter design, Paper Source is a premier paperie and gift retailer offering each customer an intimate, boutique-feel when they enter the store. All stores are a bit unique in design, character, size and style, but they all carry beautiful, artisanal unique products; From greeting cards and gift wrap, to personalized gifts and office accessories, custom wedding and social stationery, journals, rubber stamps…and an endless selection of quality paper and paper related products.
They offer a huge and unique selection of imported papers from Japan, India, Nepal, Thailand and Italy, of which Rossi1931 is honored to be part of.
“We buy as a group and distribute to all the stores. Our associates are well versed in the background story of Rossi1931 and where all our papers come from. As for online, we do list countries of origin in our product descriptions”, said Meg Kowieski, graphic designer and brand marketer.
Paper Source offers a selection of fine paper in artful textures, sheens, patterns and more.
The one thing that sets Paper Source apart from most other paperies or paper stores is their famed motto: “Do Something Creative Every Day”. And that is truly the goal.
They love to inspire customers to Do Something Creative Every Day.
They offer events, classes and workshops in their stores across the country that provide customers with the opportunity to interact with their products in new and creative ways. Feature demonstrations in everything from custom rubber stamp cutting to creating handmade holiday cards. Hands-on crafting sessions allow customers to experiment with techniques such as heat embossing, digital cutting and letterpress. “People are doing things that are very personal and individual. It’s sparking creativity.”
For those not fortunate to be near a Paper Source store, they have a series of YouTube videos which offer a variety of different demonstrations of crafting techniques from their associates. Some great ideas and helpful tricks.
