Pietro Mascagni was an Italian composer most noted for his operas in the style of Verismo, an opera marked by melodramatic plots with characters drawn from everyday life where the subjects are not mythological figures, or kings and queens, but average contemporary men and women and their problems. Considered a virtuoso of his times, he wrote 14 operas and operettas, symphonies and soundtracks for the cinema and toured all over the world. A true divo, he was an ingenious and eclectic composer, open minded to every change and innovation. (more…)
The Alte Hof (Old Courthouse) in the center of Munich is the former residence of Emperor Ludwig IV (of Bavaria, 1282-1347). It was destroyed in the Second World War and was rebuilt around 1950. Manufactum, the department store extraordinaire, has been in this building since 2007, encompassing almost 900 square meters and housing their entire range of goods. (more…)

Amaca’s pop up stores featuring printed designs from Rossi, have an added element of design: new Rossi designer boxes.
Some of the most famous floral designs of Rossi 1931, were used in the creation of the 2016 Spring & Summer AMACA (by Sanyo Shokai) collection. Now, in their retail pop-up boutiques, are additional design features: boxes made from popular Rossi designs by Kyoto artisan box maker, Box and Needle. (more…)

Letterpress stationery has been experiencing a renaissance of sorts, after nearly vanishing over the past centuries. Surprisingly very little has changed since the first days of letterpress.
